Portuguese accents can be generated in many applications using the ASCII code.
All you have to do when you need one is this:
á | 160 | à | 133 | â | 131 | ã | 0227 | ||
Á | 0193 | À | 0192 | Â | 0194 | Ã | 199 | ||
é | 130 | ê | 136 | ||||||
É | 144 | Ê | 210 | ||||||
í | 161 | ||||||||
Í | 214 | ||||||||
ó | 162 | ò | 149 | ô | 147 | õ | 0245 | ||
Ó | 224 | Ò | 227 | Ô | 226 | Õ | 229 | ||
ú | 163 | ü | 129 | ||||||
Ú | 233 | Ü | 154 | ||||||
ç | 135 | ||||||||
Ç | 128 | ||||||||
€ | 0128 |
Now, just try typing this (remember to press the Alt key while you are
typing the numbers in italics):
At130 133 pr162xima!
Did it work?
As you have noticed there aren't that many accents in Portuguese and they can be easily mastered. I've got them on a card strategically stuck on my monitor.
